         Barrel Toasting

The insides of Red Oak Winery’s barrels are toasted to perfection, giving our wines numerous aromas such as vanilla bean, hazelnut, brown sugar, and spice, extracting a caramelized, toasty expression from the oak. Extended toasting offers tastes of rich, round flavors of vanilla, mocha, spice and integrated oak tannin. Red Oak Winery works closely with our cooperage, determining the proper toasting times for our full bodied wines. This results in the rich experience of balanced oak on the nose and palate.
